Zusammenfassung:The subject of constitutive models for engineering materials is extensive in scope, so also that for geologic materials. The objectives of this work are to present comments on the significance and importance of constitutive models for prediction of behavior of geotechnical structures, to provide brief reviews of available constitutive models used for soft soils, and review the unified disturbed state concept (DSC) that can be used as an improved model for soft soils.
