Zusammenfassung:The comments were immediately condemned by Ukrainian politicians who demanded the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for Shevtsov. The profile of this conflict, that this involves children being deported, and it being a potential war crime, brings the risk of particularly damaging consequences in terms of reputation and principles [of the Red Cross]”, he said. Ukrainian politicians have repeatedly criticised the Red Cross for what they see as inadequate humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, including the failure to gain access to Ukrainian prisoners of war in occupied territories, their poor response after the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam, and for not repatriating children deported to Russia and Belarus.
