Zusammenfassung: | PM10 emission characterisation and control are considered critical environmental parameters for the European ceramic industry with regard to compliance with Directive 99/30/EC, as the emission of particulate matter into the atmosphere is one of the major environmental impacts of the ceramics manufacturing process. The present study sets out a methodology devised for characterising the particle size of dust emissions into the atmosphere from both fugitive sources (raw materials transport, storage, etc.) and channelled sources (stacks). Preliminary results are presented concerning the characterisation of emissions from different particulate matter arising in ceramic tile manufacturing processes. |
