In-Service Testing and Monitoring of Process Plant

Financial pressures require that plant down-time is minimized, so on-stream testing and monitoring bring very large benefits. This paper looks at a wide range of options for on-stream monitoring of continuous process plant including process vessels, tanks, converters, reactors and valves. The applications are discussed and case histories used to illustrate the benefits of the approach, with an emphasis on financial issues. The methods all have their role in RBI and fitness for service evaluation.
