Zusammenfassung: | Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC), also known as broken heart syndrome, is a temporary and reversible abnormality of the left ventricle. Kounis syndrome (KS) is the occurrence of acute coronary syndrome following an allergic event. The ATAK complex, which includes adrenaline, takotsubo, anaphylaxis, and Kounis syndrome, is a recently coined term to describe the association of these conditions. Gallardo et al present a case of a 77-year-old woman who developed ATAK complex after an allergic reaction to amoxicillin. She experienced chest pain, rash, and loss of consciousness, and was diagnosed with anaphylaxis and acute coronary syndrome. Coronary angiography showed normal arteries, and echocardiograms revealed transient left ventricular dysfunction. The patient also had a history of allergy to penicillin. Skin testing confirmed her sensitivity to amoxicillin. This case highlights the importance of recognizing and managing ATAK complex, as well as the need for prompt treatment of both the allergic reaction and the cardiac complications. |
