Zusammenfassung: | The National Center for Excellence in Metalworking Technology, operated by Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), facilitated the Low-Cost Titanium Workshop at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, Md., in December 2003. Over 150 delegates attended from a wide range of organizations, including Department of Defense and Energy program offices, research laboratories, titanium producers, metal fabricators and universities. The objective of the workshop was to discuss low-cost titanium initiatives for applications on U.S. Navy ships and military ground vehicles, identify new applications, assess the state of the technology and identify research needs, and promote cooperation leading to a stronger domestic titanium industrial base. |
