Zusammenfassung:According to the author, principal engineering factors in the die casting process are scheming of a gate and internal structure of dies, the selection of an adequate die casting machine, and casting condition. Improvement in quality of die-castings could be achieved by material with superior toughness, reduction in included or mixed oxides and inclusions, and homogeneous pouring and solidification. Hitachi Metal Co. possesses HIVAC and HIVAC-V for vacuum die-casting and SSM for semi-solidification die casting and is producing parts of engines for automobiles, frames of RV vehicles such as frames of snow mobiles, and suspension parts of automobiles. Materials concerned were aluminum alloys such as ADC3 (Al-Si-Mg), modified ADC3, AC4CH (Al-Si-Mg), etc.
