Zusammenfassung: | Each year, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) sends teams to visit schools that are seeking new or continued accreditation. The teams' function is to determine whether the engineering programs meet the ABET criteria required for accreditation. Each member of the team is nominated by his or her respective engineering society and is responsible for reviewing a single program (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) at a given institution. After the visit, the evaluators submit reports of their findings, including any problems, to ABET for multiple reviews and action on the request for accreditation. Problems encountered by ABET evaluators reviewing civiland civil-related-programs, during the fall 2004 school visits are listed below. Problems that occurred most frequently are in boldface type. This information was obtained from a review of 40 evaluator reports. |
