An opto-VLSI reconfigurable broad-band optical splitter

A reconfigurable broad-band optical splitter is presented, which uses the multicasting capability of opto-very-large-scale-integrated (Opto-VLSI) technology to adaptively split an optical signal to N fiber ports. Zusammenfassung:A reconfigurable broad-band optical splitter is presented, which uses the multicasting capability of opto-very-large-scale-integrated (Opto-VLSI) technology to adaptively split an optical signal to N fiber ports. We demonstrate the proof-of-principle of a three-port structure that uses a reconfigurable Opto-VLSI processor to adaptively multicast an input optical signal with dynamic attenuation range of more than 25 dB over 55-nm bandwidth.
