Zusammenfassung:The input of experimentally determined thermophysical data and heat transfer coefficients of mold materials increases the quality of simulation calculations. The methods used should provide moderate‐budget support of new developments of mold materials. The phenomenon that the thermophysical characteristics of mold material are not only dependent on the temperature but also on the phase after casting (heating and cooling) indicates a possible direction for further optimization of simulation programs.
