Zusammenfassung:It is shown that the amplitude of vibration of a magnetostrictor which causes cavitation has a certain critical value Ath. The corrosion process is predominant below this value and the corrosion-erosion process is predominant above this value. Although the contribution of the corrosion factor does not exceed 10-15% of the total mass losses in the process of corrosion-erosion fracture (CEF), there exists a possibility to decrease these losses with the help of inhibitors. The decrease in the rate of CEF of aluminum in a NaCl solution under the action of inhibitors was first observed by Rao. The influence of different classes of inhibitors on CEF is ambiguous. Thus, the chemisorption inhibitors (alkylammonium bromides and iodides) prolong the incubation period and decrease the stationary rate of CEF of steel for A < 50 *mm. The KORSOL inhibitor forms passive salt films on the surface and is more efficient than the indicated compounds. At the same time, piperidine chemisorbed on the surface of steel is more efficient than KORSOL. Actually, we do not know any clear regularities in the behavior of inhibitors. Therefore, in what follows, we study the protective action of three compounds containing organic cations (chemisorption) and inorganic anions (passivation) against the corrosion-erosion damage to medium-carbon steel caused by tap water in Lviv.
