RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERISTIC OF VIEW FROM BUILDINGS FRONTING A RIVER AND THE SUBJECT'S PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

This study aims at clarifying the characteristic of psychological evaluation for the views from buildings located at a riverside. The authors carried out the experiment of the subject's evaluation for the photographs of the views. The authors analyzed the relationships between psychological evaluation and the constituent elements of the photographs. The results showed that subjects especially direct their attention to "rivers", "green and trees" and "structures" when they evaluate the views, so these are important elements. And these elements have some influence on the psychological evaluation. In case like a view has "large sky", "large river and sea","large green and trees" and "small structures", the subjects evaluate it as "comfortable".
