Zusammenfassung:•The Region of Tuscany has implemented a variety of integrative oncology services over the past 12 years.•There are currently 21 integrative oncology clinics within the Tuscan public healthcare system.•A Regional Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care Pathways for complementary medicine in oncology have been officially approved.•Various national and international initiatives have been implemented and are still ongoing.•Integrative oncology may play a key role for reducing adverse effects of anticancer treatments.
