Zusammenfassung: | The biocompatibility of TiMo(sub12)Zr(sub6)Fe(sub2) alloy (TMZF) was studied by comparing the behaviour of primary human fibroblasts and osteoblasts grown on TMZF with that of cells grown on plastic culture dishes. Over 96 h, proliferation, differentiation, RNA and collagen type I expression were analysed. Fibroblasts behaved in the same way on both materials at 48 h, but their numbers increased on TMZF at 96 h. Osteoblasts adhered and proliferated on both TMZF and plastic; and the RNA expression level was not affected. Both cell types cultured on TMZF showed an increase in the amount of type I collagen produced. The results indicate the good biocompatibility of TMZF. (Original abstract - amended) |
