Structural and mechanical consequences of arterial remodeling in a rat model of pulmonary hypertension assessed using micro-CT

Zusammenfassung:We developed micro-CT imaging methods to quantify structural and biomechanical properties of the arterial tree in a rat model of pulmonary hypertension. Parameters of the nonlinear fits to the data reveal that vessel distensibility is the primary quantity affected by the pulmonary hypertension, being significantly decreased in the experimental, compared to control lungs.
