A SIMS study of oxygen tracer diffusion and surface exchange in La0.8Sr0.2MnO3+δ

Zusammenfassung: | This study of oxygen diffusion in La0.8Sr0.2MnO3+delta indicates that 1) bulk oxygen diffusion in this perovskite oxide, which exhibits excess, involves the migration of oxygen vacancies; 2) the absolute magnitude of the oxygen diffusion coefficient is very low in comparison to other acceptor- doped LaTMO3 perovskites, due to the site fraction of oxygen vacancies; and 3) the diffusion of oxygen along grain boundaries is much faster than through the bulk. Depending on the microstructure, grain boundary transport of oxygen could enhance the performance of LSM cathodes. 31 refs. |
