Zusammenfassung: | Limited data are available on the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) pandemic on encephalitis. Therefore, we evaluated trends in encephalitis in South Korea between 2010 and 2021 using data from the National Health Insurance Service. During the pandemic (February 2020 to 2021), the monthly incidence of encephalitis declined by 0.027 per 100 000 population (95% confidence interval [CI]: −0.055 to 0.001, p = 0.062) compared to that before the pandemic.
