On the Multiple Isoparametric Finite Element Method and Computation of Stress Intensity Factor for Cracks in FGMs

In this paper, a multiple isoparametric finite element method is presented, and as an example of the application of the method, the stress intensity factor for cracks in functionally graded materials (FGMs) is computed. Zusammenfassung:In this paper, a multiple isoparametric finite element method is presented, and as an example of the application of the method, the stress intensity factor for cracks in functionally graded materials (FGMs) is computed. The results showed that the multiple isoparametric finite element method is much more efficient in computing the stress intensity factor for cracks in nonhomogeneous materials. (Author)
