Picosecond z-scan measurements of nonlinear optical susceptibility of films and solutions of novel organometallic polymers

The third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility of novel organometallic polymer films and solutions has been studied by the z-scan technique with picosecond laser pulses (with duration of 40 ps at 1064 nm and 3 ps at 1054 nm). Zusammenfassung:The third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility of novel organometallic polymer films and solutions has been studied by the z-scan technique with picosecond laser pulses (with duration of 40 ps at 1064 nm and 3 ps at 1054 nm). The electronic contribution to the nonlinear optical susceptibility was found by using a test beam with circular and linear polarization. The largest value of this electronic susceptibility was found for films of poly[ethynediyl-arylene-ethynediyl-silylene]s and bis(arene)chromium-containing polyacrylonitrile, −9.5×10−11 and −1.7×10−10 esu, respectively.
