Influence of annealing before cold rolling on the evolution of sharp Goss texture in Fe-3%Si alloy

The primary grain size on annealing of cold rolled strips not preliminarily annealed before cold rolling was smaller than those annealed. In both cases, B 8 increased with increasing primary grain size and thus the main metallurgical function of annealing before cold rolling is to promote grain growth at the primary recrystallization stage and to increase B 8 values.
