Zusammenfassung:The present paper examines metal/ceramic interfaces. Energy release rates are calculated with the finite element method for different elastic–plastic material laws of the metal. The local strain field of the metal is measured during a four-point bending test with an optical method and compared with results from the simulations. The aim of the work is to understand the influence of interface strength and material properties on the energy release rate.
