Zusammenfassung: | A description is given of the fabrication and characterisation of microwave sintered small beta alumina tube (40 x 10 x 8 mm) made from cold isostatic pressing of spray dried beta alumina powder. The tubes were sintered for different microwave power levels and power schedules in an attempt to optimise the sintering conditions to obtain preferred beta" phase with improved microstructure. This was achieved by microwave sintering at about 200 C lower sintering temperatures in about 20 h less time compared to conventional sintering. 8 refs. |
