Zusammenfassung:The diffusion mechanism of Fe-atoms in the hexagonal B8 phase of FeSb has been investigated using quasielastic Mossbauer spectroscopy. It has been found that the Fe atoms jump from octahedral sites via interstitial sites back to octahedral sites. These results are compared to existing data on the structurally identical NiSb. Despite the large differences of the diffusivities in these two alloys, the microscopic diffusion is described by the same mechanism.
