Zusammenfassung: | We examine diffraction by a new class of
Cantor ring diffractals (Cantor targets) based on a polyadic Cantor set described by several fractal descriptors including fractal dimension, lacunarity, number of gaps, and stage of growth. We find scaling properties characteristic of these diffractals and examine their radiation patterns through the use of
twist plots. These twist plots can be used to find lacunarity “windows” where diffracted sidelobes are relatively low. We find that Cantor ring diffractals have distinctive
subfractal,
fractal and
superfractal diffraction regimes whose boundaries we predict from the diffractal geometry. |
