After 9000 h, this scale was approx15 mu m thick. A continuous Ti-rich nitride layer was present at the alloy-scale interface. The alloy ahead of the nitride layer was depleted in Ti and enriched in Al. This nitride formation, and associated Al enrichment, appears to be related to a minimum level of Nb in the alloy. |
