Zusammenfassung: | Problems arise in the design and manufacture of dampers having an elastic type of material fixed to a steel beam type of support. To simplify matters, the supports are usually cylindrical and, to complicate matters, are fixed rigidly to all manner of semi-rigid pieces of equipment. Damping involves a variety of frequencies, those to be absorbed and those which can be tolerated. Various aspects of these requirements are considered, to assist in the design process and possible variations, etc. are shown graphically. There are some notes on materials useful for damping and on the effects which can be caused by ageing, or other deterioration. |
