Zusammenfassung:The effect of hot rolling parameters on the magnetic properties of a low Si ultra-low carbon steel, after cold rolling and annealing, was investigated. Samples were hot rolled at various reheating, finishing, and coiling temperatures. A significant reduction in core loss after cold rolling and annealing was observed on lowering the slab reheating temperature. This resulted in a coarser precipitate structure and coarser final grain size. Magnetic induction increased for a coarse hot band grain structure.
