Study of a Multilayer-Based Technique with Sintering Additives for Microstructuring of Single-Phase Ceramics

Zusammenfassung: | Single-phase yttria-based ceramics are microstructured by a multilayer technique. Alternating layer stacks with and without sintering additive exhibit after sintering a controlled periodic microstructure with varied porosity between < 1% and 10%. Constrained sintering effects lead to anisotropic shrinkage. The interlayer diffusion of the sintering additive give a technical limitation for the achievable fineness of the microstructures. |
