| Zusammenfassung: | The paper reports on the development of CR15, a higher grade steel than CO sub 2 resistant 13% Cr martensitic stainless steel. The steel can be used in high temperature oil well above 150 deg C and has comparable price with 13% Cr. It covers corrosion phenomena in CO sub 2 environments, corrosion resistant mechanism by the addition of Cr, basic principles in the development, microstructures and mechanical properties, corrosion test results and the chemical composition of a developed steel. Several hundred tons of the steel tubes were supplied to customers by the end of 1994. |
