Zusammenfassung: | The effect of the original boehmite structure, seeding and MgO doping on the phase transformation of transitional aluminas and alpha-Al2O3 densification was studied. MgO doping has a very important role in the processing of gel-derived Al2O3; this role is not the same as in the classical one. Seeding of the boehmite gel reduces the transformation temperature and changes the microstructure, but the boehmite source plays only a secondary role in all stages of Al2O3 processing. 12 refs. |
