Zusammenfassung:Surface phonon dispersion curves have been measured for the clean and hydrogen-covered Ru(0001) surfaces along the [11 2 ̄ 0] and [1 1 ̄ 00] high symmetry directions of the surface Brillouin zone using high resolution He atom scattering. Interatomic force constants and elastic constants were obtained by a lattice-dynamical analysis of the experimental data. Significant changes of the dynamical properties of the surface and the interaction strength between impinging He atoms and surface phonons are observed upon reaction of the surface with hydrogen.
