Zusammenfassung: | An appropriate chemical composition for boron-treated microalloyed steel for the production of E890T plates has been elaborated displaying the required resistance to fracture and a restricted anisotropy of the plastic properties at low temperature. Steel melted in an open hearth furnace, followed by LF technology, proves to warrant the required properties with a low hydrogen content. The heat treatment conditions were tailored to optimize the boron factor and grain size effects of plates 10-20 mm thick. |
