Presents and discusses the result of a qualitative study to explore the perceptions of medical officers from the general medicine service on the impact of the absence of inpatient rheumatology consultation service at Wellington Regional Hospital (WRH) and elicit their opinions on appropriate rheumatology service provision. Looks at the provision of rheumatology consultation for inpatients at comparable district health boards (DHB) in New Zealand.
