Its combination with strength is optimum in austenitic, whereas in ferritic and duplex steels it is roughly equivalent to the value for carbon steel. In the case of thin plate the austenitic steel can be superior to deep drawing steel as a result of the greater permissible elongation of the austenitic steel. |
