Zusammenfassung: | Commercially pure (CP) titanium and Ti-6Al-4V alloy powders were produced from their respective turnings. Turnings were initially cleaned, hydrogenated and then milled to produce the powders. Fully dense compacts were produced from these powders by hot isostatic pressing. Oxygen and nitrogen contents of the powders and compacts were within the allowable limits. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and optical microscopy (OM) were used to study the powder morphology and the microstructure of the compacts. Phase analysis of the powders and compacts were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Mechanical properties of the compacts were also studied. |
