Flow around a circular cylinder at the critical Reynolds number regime

The flow around a circular cylinder was examined over the Reynolds number range 10 exp 5 to 5 x 10 exp 5. The static pressure distributions around the circumference of the cylinder were measured, and the flow patterns were visualized by means of the smoke injection method. (Author)
