Zusammenfassung: | The characteristics of ZnO-doped LiNbO3 crystals were analysed and compared with those of undoped and a 5-mol% MgO-doped LiNbO3 crystal. The optical and electrical properties of the LiNbO3 crystals showed that doping with Zn2+ increases the photorefractive resistance. The mechanism suggested is that Zn2+ ions substitute for Nb(Li)4+ in nonstoichiometric LiNbO3 ([Li1-5xNb5x]Nb1-4xO3, x = 0-0.02) and this approach has proved useful in understanding the crystalline structure essential to analysis of these properties. 20 refs. |
