Zusammenfassung:The utility of four Polish lignites as reburn fuels for nitrogen oxides emission reduction was studied in a laboratory-scale drop-tube furnace. The efficacy of the lignites correlated with their calcium content and varied with volatile matter content. A comparison of reburning efficacy of partially devolatilized chars with that of parent lignites demonstrated that the latter achieved a higher NO sub(x) emission reduction.
