Zusammenfassung: | Expansion of a cylindrical cavity in a brittle material is analyzed on the basis of the concept of the ultimate velocity of the fracture front. The boundary problems have been solved for the material regions of various states. The expansion pressure of a cylindrical cavity as a function of the expansion velocity in a ceramic material [AD995 alumina] is given and compared to that of a spherical cavity. |
