Zusammenfassung:A new electrodynamic effect in layered cuprates is predicted-surface Hall currents induced in thin superconducting films by normal-to-the-layer electric induction and homogeneous parallel-to-the-film magnetic field. An experimental set-up is proposed for observation of the new electrodynamic effect. Within London's electrodynamics, an elementary theory of the effect is presented, and details of a BCS derivation are briefly discussed. The analyzed numerical example shows that an experiment can easily be performed in every lab involved in the development of superconducting field effect transistors (SU-FET). For the fundamental physics of high-Tc superconductivity, the experimental confirmation will give a unique method for the measurement of the effective mass of Cooper- pairs moving in a conducting CuO2 plane. 7 refs.
