Zusammenfassung:A strong dependence of the Young's moduli of thermal sprayed ceramics on pressure due to elastic closure of microcracks is predicted. At pressures of the order of hundreds MPa, i.e. at elastic contractions < 1%, the low Young's moduli of sprayed ceramics should increase to high values, close to those for well sintered porous ceramics.
