Zusammenfassung:Periclase carbon and corundum graphite articles have low thermal expansion, high refractory and heat conduction capacities, since carbon does not form eutectic mixtures with Mg and Al oxides. The main problem in production of carbon-containing refractories consists in the need of preserving the carbon in the course of heat treatment. The possibility of using a thermosetting polymer binder based on alkyl resorcing oligomer for the production of C-containing refractories and engineering ceramics is demonstrated.
