Yield stress as a function of tensile temperature for Al-(0-0.76 wt pct) Mg alloys with fiber texture
The tensile properties of as-extruded pure aluminum and Mg-added alloy with fiber texture reveal strong texture hardening. Such texture hardening is a viable approach to ensure a good yield stress of pure aluminum and Al-0.4Mg at test temperatures from room temperature to about 170 C. As the magnesi...

Zusammenfassung: | The tensile properties of as-extruded pure aluminum and Mg-added alloy with fiber texture reveal strong texture hardening. Such texture hardening is a viable approach to ensure a good yield stress of pure aluminum and Al-0.4Mg at test temperatures from room temperature to about 170 C. As the magnesium addition is increased from 0 to 0.76 wt pct, a concave downward dependence between yield stress and magnesium addition occurs, indicating that the maximum yield stress is achieved when the material contains roughly 0.43 wt pct Mg.
