X-ray diffraction shows a 0.5 nm spacing in hydrogels of poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA)
X-ray diffraction patterns from poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) hydrogels, at a range of water contents, were found to have a peak corresponding to a spacing of d approximately 0.5 nm. It was observed that the precise value of d decreases as the water content of the gel increases.
