The evolution of the disproportionated microstructure of PrFeB-based alloys

A conventional hydrogenation disproportionation desorption and recombination (HDDR) process has been applied to Pr sub 2 (Fe,Co,Zr) sub 14 B alloys. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Mossbauer spectroscopy show that an intermediate metastable boride, Pr(Fe,Co) sub 12 B sub 6 can be found in the disproport...

Zusammenfassung:A conventional hydrogenation disproportionation desorption and recombination (HDDR) process has been applied to Pr sub 2 (Fe,Co,Zr) sub 14 B alloys. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Mossbauer spectroscopy show that an intermediate metastable boride, Pr(Fe,Co) sub 12 B sub 6 can be found in the disproportionated powders processed at 860 deg C and above. During the recombination, this phase remains during the initial stages but disappears with longer recombination treatment.
