Zusammenfassung: | The Shallow Water Acoustic Technology Program of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency included development of simple impulsive acoustic sources for low-frequency submarine detection, which, in turn, raised questions about their efficient operational use. The multistatic performance prediction methodology was a response to that interest. It can be used to evaluate detection as a function of source and receiver densities. We discuss the underlying concepts and implementation of this methodology and give examples of its application. |
