Zusammenfassung:Fe3Al based alloys offer specific advantages of excellent oxidation and sulfidation resistance, along with reasonably good strength. They also seem to be superior to many grades of stainless steels in terms of density, cost, and reduced consumption of strategic element like Cr. One of the major limitations of these materials, however, is lack of room temperature ductility which possibly is related to some kind of environmental embrittlement. Various aspects of iron aluminide based alloys with compositions near that of Fe3Al (DO3 or B2 structure) have been investigated thoroughly. However, the kinetics of recrystallization has not been investigated systematically so far. Here, an attempt is made to study the recrystallization kinetics in the temperature range 550-700 C, where the crystal structure is B2. (CSA)
