Zusammenfassung:Nd-123 powder was synthesised by the sol-gel process using Nd, Ba and Cu acetates. Two processing variants were investigated, one utilising an acetate sol and the other an acetate sol with added ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid acts as a complexing agent with strong reducing properties and can promote high phase purity in sol-gel synthesised powders. The two variants produced equally pure Nd-123 powders. However, the sol containing ascorbic acid maintained stability to lower viscosities. 32 refs.
