Seminar on the thermophysical properties of liquid metals

The aim of the paper is to describe the activity of the Seminar on the thermophysical properties of liquid metals and alloys (Kabardino-Balkariya, 11-15 June 2001). 75 specialists presented more 100 reports. The main topics of the reports were the following ones: physical properties (surface tension, density, heat radiation, wettability, thermal expansion, thermal conduction etc.); theoretical problems of the metal and alloy structure; thermodynamics of alloys and their surfaces. The binary and ternary alkali metals, mercury, gold, indium, gallium, zirconium, iron etc. were investigated.
