Zusammenfassung: | As international steel manufacturers search for cost effective ways to increase productivity, equipment that links independent segments of process line to improve continuity are in increasing demand. MHI and Kawasaki Steel Corporation have developed the world's first noncontact Helical Turner the device changes the direction of strip travel without contacting the material for use on Continuous Annealing Lines and other facilities requiring strict control of strip surface quality. The Helical Turner was developed applying standard Mitsubishi Floater technology and subsequently proven in both workshop and full scale field tests. The first noncontact Helical Turner has been in operation at Kawasaki Steel Corporation Chiba Works since May 1998. |
